See the Holiday Train Show at NYBG. If it isn’t already a part of your holiday tradition, going to see the train show every year at the New York Botanical Garden should be. Visit Bartow Pell Mansion in Pelham Bay Park to see the Storybook Christmas Trees. Delight in Christmas trees throughout the mansion decorated by artists and designers inspired by contemporary children’s Christmas storybooks. This year there is a modern twist. Classics from yesteryear are taking a back seat to contemporary favorites–from Fancy Nancy to Olivia Helps with Christmas–as the theme for this year’s trees. Opens Saturday December 7th. bpmm.org

Santa Clause Pajama Storytime. This kids’ event will feature a reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” hot cocoa, and the jolly guy. Choose from 6:00 p.m., 6:45 or 7:30 p.m. sessions.
