Review: 2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring

Recently I had the opportunity to test out the 2014 Mazda6 Grand Touring for a week. As a family of four who isn’t ready to pay more in gas for a van or SUV, it was great to try out a fuel efficient car that was roomy and comfortable enough for each of us-especially my hubby who easily feels cramped and uncomfortable driving smaller cars. At 40 MPG Highway, it is just what we need for our family, as we often travel to New Jersey and Long Island to visit family. Now if only we could get the toll prices to go down!

We were given a car in Soul Red- a color specially engineered with a three step painting process. The color was amazing and definitely an eye turner, but the model is available in five other colors if such a bold color isn’t your thing. The inside was just as nice as the outside, with comfortable leather seats. My 7 year old daughter Briana was extremely comfortable in the backseat, with plenty of leg room and no complaints from daddy about kicking the back of his seat. You can check out a video review that Briana also did for her Briana’s Review series here.

The bluetooth features were definitely one of our favorite parts of the experience. With a 1 1/2 year old in the backseat, toddler tunes and other kid friendly songs need to be easily accessed. I’m a huge Pandora fan because of the wide range of music preferences in our family, so it was great to be able to sync Pandora from my phone and then select songs straight from the screen.

Overall we were a big fan of the Mazda6 Grand Touring. The ride was smooth, the MPG was great, and the technology was phenomenal. Also, the trunk space is huge! We were able to fit both our youngest’s stroller and wagon for a trip to the park. Normally in our car, we have to take the stroller out and leave it in the house.
