October is always a fun month full of apple picking, pumpkin picking, and Halloween activities- and it’s one of our favorite months to plan activities for! This weekend Bronxmama hosted our first ever Halloween Costume Dance party. Let’s just say it was a SPOOKtacular event!
Held at Beso Lounge here in the Bronx, our little ghosts..OOPS I mean guests- had the chance to do Halloween crafts, munch on healthy snacks, and dance the afternoon away to both spooky and popular tunes. Our friends at Actuator Inc. were awesome as always and MC’d the event as well as donated some goodies.
We were lucky to have the opportunity to review several games and crafts from Oriental Trading and use them for our party. While our costumed guests warmed up to the idea of dancing, they were able to play Pumpkin Bean Bag toss and Candy Corn Bowling as well as decorate small orange pails with silly Halloween foam faces. Also spread around the room for fun were inflatable microphones and mini Jack-O’-Lantern noisemakers. They definitely made BOOgying on the dance floor even more fun.
While Halloween may be associated with candy and other sugary sweets, we wanted to highlight some healthy snack options for our party animals, and our sponsors did not disappoint!
Chips are always a great snack at parties- but have you ever had bean and rice chips!? Beanfield Snacks provided us with their super yummy Nacho flavored chips. We made sure to ask around to both adults and kids to see what they thought of them- and they were a hit! Beanfield chips are vegan, gluten-free, contain none of the top allergens, and sport the Non-GMO Project’s seal of approval.
Funny Face Snacks were also available for our guests- who devoured them while taking breaks from the dance floor. Funny Face Cran come in a variety of flavors and have the most adorable characters to represent each one. Did you know only .7 oz. of dried cranberries has the same benefits as drinking an 8 oz. glass of cranberry juice with 27% juice! Find out other awesome facts about the benefits of cranberries, where to buy Funny Face, and even get recipes on their website.
For our bigger party animals Dannon provided us with their delish Danimal Drinkables. Always a hit with kids, I had to tell my 7 year old not to drink all of them and save some for the guests! She also made sure to remind me and all of the guests about Rally for Recess. Danimal Smoothies come in 7 yummy flavors, including Banana Split and Wild Watermelon.
Our little ones were in for a treat with Happy Family Squeeze smoothies in a variety of flavors. All of our parents were huge fans of the brand and happy to try the smoothies as well as take home some great coupons. Happy Family helps happy moms say no to artificial preservatives and flavors, trans fat, and packaging that uses BPA.
The entertainment production and design company Actuator Inc. was gracious in sponsoring some other yummy snacks as well- pretzels and apples, as well as Trick or Treat bags for everyone!!
Another huge hit was the Halloween nail station set up by Pink Shisha nail salon. Our little princesses and witches were able to get cute nail designs on their nails-many matched their costumes! Pink Shisha is located at 3361 East Tremont avenue in Throggs Neck. They are great with mommy daughter nail dates!
All in all it was a great event. We had a blast seeing all of the awesome costumes and watching the kids have a good time moving around and enjoying healthy snack options. Parents were even grooving to the beats too. We are super thankful to all of our sponsors and were happy to hear a good time was had by all!
