School may be around the corner, but kids can still get outside (and get their hands dirty!) this fall at The New York Botanical Garden! In NYBG’s Children’s Gardening Program, kids plant, tend, and harvest delicious veggies and herbs; prepare and taste the fruits of their labor; and enjoy nature with new friends in the beautiful setting of the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden.
The Children’s Gardening Program offers the perfect way for kids to get outside and get their hands dirty. Guided by instructors, children plant, tend, and harvest fresh vegetables and herbs, and learn about topics from pollination to composting. The program takes place in the Ruth Rea Howell Family Garden, centerpiece of the future Edible Academy. Each gardening season offers unique and engaging activities customized for kids ages 3–5 and ages 6–12. Register for one or all three seasons by age group, below, and come grow with us!
