Letter from a BronxMama: Keeping our Children Warm

Dear readers,
My name is Nadia and I am a proud mother of Brenton, 7 months. I would like to discuss the topic of us keeping our children warm. It now has been, and about to get very cold. It is so important to keep our kids warm. I use the rain cover on the stroller at all times, just to try to help to keep the cold out. My son does go to day care, and along with him there are a few more children with a cold. It’s hard to prevent the cold when it’s so cold and they go to day care- lets try as parents to not let our kids get worse.  Layers and wrapping them up warm is the key. I have found an old wives tale that may be useful:  to sooth a cough add a layer of Vick’s or menthol to the soles of your child’s feet then add socks. Doing this will sooth the cough and help your child to recovery. I have been doing this with my son and I have found an improvement. Please share any wives tales that you may have with us, so that we can share them with other parents.

Thank you have a great day!
