Outside the Bronx:2010 QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP COMES TO NEW YORK CITY

Formerly an annual event held in Vermont, this two-day tournament will be apparating to the Big Apple this year. The tournament, best described as “a cross between the Super Bowl and a medieval festival,” will take place at Dewitt Clinton Park at 52nd Street and 11th Avenue in Manhattan on November 13th and 14th, just one day before the New York premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1.

“Muggle” (or real-life) Quidditch has become a real and popular game, adapted by college students in 2005 from JK Rowling’s Harry Potter novels and now played at over 500 schools worldwide. For more info, check out http://www.internationalquidditch.org/worldcup/
