Get Out and Grill at the Botanical Garden

Kick off the summer entertaining season with the Get Out and Grill Festival Weekend. Demonstrations of unique and fun ways to use your grill will give you tips for a successful summer of outdoor fun. On Sunday, June 20, treat Dad to a Father’s Day Barbecue and a day of special events. Enjoy delicious samples of sustainably produced food on the Tasting Terrace, guided tours of the four spectacular kitchen gardens, and Café Scientifique–talks with some of the Garden’s scientists.

Bring your kids for a fun time at the lake! Learn the basics of angling, or bring your own supplies and cast in a line. Bamboo poles will be provided for those who don’t have their own gear.

Let Uncle Rock (Robert Burke Warren, former bassist of the late-’70s punk group the Fleshtones) do what his name implies: get your kids moving to his rockabilly tunes. Dads will appreciate the songs from his latest album, The Big Picture, which pays tribute to fathers of rock, including David Bowie, the Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash. All ages.
